Hi, I’m John.

It’s great to meet you. You’ve landed on this page to find out more about ‘the man behind the mission’. So I thought I’d tell you a bit more about me.

Throughout this website you’ve read about my time as lead pastor at C3 Church Hepburn Heights. It was a long journey, and filled with the challenges you might expect (and some you probably wouldn’t!)

All the ups and downs…

I’ve experienced the exhilaration of growth, with people getting baptised, finances flowing, and small groups growing. But also the frustration when things stall… and the creeping doubt that comes with it. Add a touch of burnout, a brush with depression, and you can say I’ve experienced it all!

Fortunately I have always found the guidance I needed to overcome the challenges that were placed in my path. Over my pastoring journey, the Lord enabled me to lead our church through generational renewal which saw it grow successfully, while also thriving in my role and finding fulfilment in my life’s work.

“I consider myself blessed to spend my life helping others
develop their natural God-given gifts.”

Becoming a navigator for others

I know first hand that when you’re pastoring a church, you’re living in your own bubble. Sometimes it can feel like you’re not getting anywhere… where in fact, you actually are.

Sometimes it takes someone with experience to look at a situation with fresh eyes, see the things you might not be seeing, and gently point you in the right direction.

You might be surprised to know… the answers you seek are often staring you in the face.

All I do is facilitate your pathway out of the woods. That comes from asking the right questions, and providing the right tools at the right time to help you get unstuck and move forward.

“I am a navigator that helps you explore the territory
and find the right pathway through.”

Building a legacy

Life is a collection of moments, big and small. I’m a big believer in seizing those special moments when you can.

Because not everyone gets the privilege of being part of building something that lasts for decades.

Whether it’s building a church, starting a school, binding together a community… these achievements are part of a legacy that outlasts any single person.

I also thank Him for putting me in this position where I can help others find their path when called. Because I know that when people can come together and advance the cause of Christ it becomes legacy.

I think that’s the best any person can aim for in life. It’s certainly enough for me.

“I thank the Lord for his grace to be able to give me
the special moments of my life.”
