Ever think “nobody understands me”?

Ever leave a conversation mumbling to yourself ‘they just don’t get what I am about’?

Ever talk to someone, both of you having expressed your thoughts on an issue, but somehow miss a connection point?

Ever hold back from saying something because you know those listening wouldn’t comprehend your meaning?

Well, I have, and I think David would have been just like you and me, he would have answered ‘yes’ to all four of the above questions.

nobody understands me

David relaxed and was confident in the fact that he was intimately known by His God, just as you and I are.

He wrote Ps 139:1-3

O LORD, You have searched me and known me.

You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off. You comprehend my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways.

These verses affirm to me that my God :

You have searched me

You know me

You understand how I think

You comprehend the way I do things, my schedule and my commitments

You are acquainted with the way I am wired

Take a deep breathe with me, relax and be confident that you are intimately known by someone, the most important One, your God.

Do you ever think, “nobody understands me”?

  1. That’s good John. God reassures me, “you’re ok, I wired you that way”! And it helps me have grace for the other person beside me in ministry. He wired them too! They must be okay also. Then he helps us come to a mutual understanding and work together. Amazing!

  2. Hey Ben too true and that’s how the body works. I made a mistake when posting and left the author as me. Changed it now so can’t take credit as it’s Di’s post! Thanks for sharing.
